Gloria Etheridge Lassiter, 62, of Roanoke Rapids died Saturday, November 21, 2009.

Gloria was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late Clyde Thomas Etheridge and Martha Pearce Etheridge. She was a 1965 graduate of Weldon High School. Gloria attended East Carolina University and UNC-Greensboro. She had been employed with the Halifax County Mental Health Center.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Edward Lassiter; two sons, Brian Lassiter and Derek Lassiter, both of the home; three sisters, Hazel Doyle and her husband, L.B., Rebecca Wrenn, all of Roanoke Rapids, and Nancy Borntreger and her husband, Jay, of Raleigh; and one brother, Billy Etheridge, also of Raleigh.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Sunday, November 22, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
